Remember Polo shirts, designer jeans, gigantic waterbeds and skyscraper speaker systems? Ah, the excessive 80’s. See which over-the-top fads are going by the wayside in 2009.

I got up early today, (give me a gold star) thought I’d walk up to my local coffee house for something tasty. I waffled on whether or not I ought to buy that $4 cappuccino (I am unemployed, on a budget and I have coffee in the house).  Before I head out for my pricey perk, I give the Internet a quick peek. There it was on the MSN front page, a story about four dollar coffee and other expensive goodies–Twenty Fads we’ll Regretby Liz Puliman Weston.

 Eye-opening and somewhat funny, Liz offers us an amusing reality check on fading American overabundance.
